April 3rd and 4th

'FascinatingFelt' - A 'try out' session introducing various techniques for producing felted fabrics from wool. Learn how to make some felted jewellery, a felt ball, purse or decorate knitwear using methods such as dry felting (needle felt), Turkish and Scandinavian methods, felting constructed fabrics, resist felting. Includes a brief introduction and a history of felting.

Facilitated by David and Anne Reid

 

Suitable for beginners, young or old, interested in learning about the fascinating craft of felting

Cost - Adults £18.00 for the day

Ann Brown of Posh Frocks - '2 half day workshops'

am - Weaving on the Knitting Machine (Knitweave) - Create amazing fabrics from your stash of yarn cones hiding on your shelves

pm - Plating on the Knitting machine - Such an under used technique which is so easy, giving colour and texture, saves money by using up your odd dye lots

 

Suitable for machine knitters of all abilities

 

Cost - £35.00 for the day (both workshops and includes a buffet lunch)

£15.00 for a single workshop (does not include lunch)

June 19th

Bill King - 'Directional Knitting on the Knitting Machine'. Exploring different methods of shaping garments, forget the back front and 2 sleeves and let your imagination run riot with a variety of techniques to produce unusual and fun knitwear.

 

Bill is a well known knitted fabric designer. His talks are informed and always entertaining.

Suitable for machine knitters of all abilities and those interested in the design of knitwear generally.

August 28th and 29th

'Weaving without a loom' - A 'try out' session introducing simple weaving techniques including peg looms, simple fixed heddle weaving, weaving on sticks, weaving on card and hardboard, weaving on rings and frames.

Suitable for beginners, young or old, interested in learning about the fascinating craft of weaving.

Jeanette Mason - Tassle Making

 'revealing the secrets of how to make the worlds most gorgeous fabric decorations'.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about making tassels.

Iris Bishop - 'Painting and Stenciling on Knitted Fabrics'. Including making your own stencils.

 

Iris Bishop is well known among machine knitters all over the world for her innovative designs and techniques for adding colour to knitted garments.

 

This workshop is suitable for machine knitters, hand knitters and anyone who wants to learn more about the techniques of painting and stenciling on fabrics.
